Installation Notes
- Shut off the engine and allow it to cool completely. Disconnect the boat's battery.
- Close the raw water intake seacock to prevent water from entering the vessel.
- Place an absorbent towel under the pump to catch any spilled coolant or water.
- Remove the screws holding the pump's cover plate. Keep them safe.
- Carefully pry off the cover plate. If it’s stuck, tap it gently; avoid using a screwdriver, which can damage the sealing surfaces.
- Note the rotational direction of the existing impeller blades before removal. Use impeller pullers or two screwdrivers to carefully lever the old impeller out.
- Clean the inside of the pump housing and the cover plate, removing any old gasket material or debris.
- Lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the pump housing with water-resistant grease or liquid soap.
- Install the new impeller by pushing it into the housing while twisting it in the direction of engine rotation to correctly bend the blades.
- Install a new gasket (not included) if required, and securely fasten the cover plate.
- Re-open the raw water seacock. Reconnect the battery.
- Start the engine and immediately check the pump and exhaust for proper water flow and any leaks.
