Installation Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable for safety.
Place the outboard gear shift in the neutral position.
Remove the lower unit mounting bolts and carefully lower the gearcase.
Unbolt and remove the existing water pump housing to access the impeller.
Remove the old impeller, gaskets, and wear plate, noting their orientation.
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of any old gasket material or debris.
Install the new base plate gasket, wear plate, and impeller. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise to help seat the impeller blades.
Lightly grease the inside of the new pump housing and install it with the new gasket.
Torque the housing bolts to the manufacturer's recommended specification.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly.
Reconnect the battery and start the engine on a water supply to verify a strong water stream from the tell-tale outlet.
