- Shift the outboard into the neutral gear position.

- Insert the new drive key into the shaft and slide the new impeller on. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise to help seat the blades correctly inside the housing.

- Reattach the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are properly aligned.
