Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this kit fits my specific engine?
The best way is to match your engine's model, year, and serial number against the compatibility table. If available, cross-reference the part number stamped on your old impeller with the numbers in our Part Number Matrix.
What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?
Common symptoms include engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a weak or non-existent water stream from the "tell-tale" outlet port, and a dry, cracked, or brittle appearance on the old impeller upon inspection.
How often should I replace my outboard's impeller?
As a general maintenance guideline, it is recommended to inspect and/or replace the impeller every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of operation, whichever comes first. Usage in saltwater or sandy/silty conditions may require more frequent replacement.
What is the difference between this impeller and the OEM version?
This is an aftermarket part designed to meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications for fit, material durability, and performance. It offers a cost-effective alternative to the original brand-name part without compromising quality.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
