Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into the neutral position.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) by unbolting it from the engine's midsection.
Place the lower unit on a suitable workbench and remove the old water pump housing bolts.
Carefully lift the old housing, noting the position of all parts for reassembly.
Remove the old impeller, gaskets, face plate, and seals. Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces.
Install the new lower gasket, face plate, and impeller key onto the driveshaft.
Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning the shaft clockwise to seat the vanes correctly inside the housing.
Install the upper gasket and fit the new housing assembly over the impeller.
Tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the water tube and shift shaft are correctly aligned.
Securely tighten all lower unit mounting bolts to the correct torque specifications.
Reconnect the battery and test the engine in the water, verifying a steady water stream from the tell-tale port.
