Installation Notes

1. Ensure the engine is completely cool and disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Drain coolant from the exhaust manifold if required by your service manual.
3. Carefully loosen and remove the bolts securing the exhaust elbow to the manifold.
4. Remove the old gasket. Be prepared for it to be brittle or adhered to the metal.
5. Thoroughly clean both mating surfaces. Use a plastic scraper and appropriate solvent to remove all old gasket material and corrosion.
6. Position the new gasket, ensuring all bolt holes line up perfectly.
7. Re-attach the exhaust elbow and tighten the bolts in a crossing pattern to the manufacturer's specified torque.
8. Reconnect any hoses, refill coolant if drained, and reconnect the battery.
9. Start the engine and carefully inspect for any exhaust or water leaks around the sealed joint.
