Installation Notes

  1. Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into neutral.
    2. \n
  2. Drain the gearcase oil from the lower unit.
    3. \n
  3. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit to the engine and carefully drop it down.
    4. \n
  4. Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing assembly.
    5. \n
  5. Clean the mounting surfaces and inspect the driveshaft for any scoring or wear.
    6. \n
  6. Assemble the new impeller, plate, gaskets, and housing from the kit. Ensure the impeller key is correctly seated.
    7. \n
  7. Lightly grease the inside of the new housing and install it, rotating the driveshaft in its normal direction of rotation to seat the impeller vanes.

  8. Torque the housing bolts to the manufacturer’s specification.

  9. Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the water tube and shift linkage are properly aligned.

  10. Refill the lower unit with fresh gear oil and test the engine\'s cooling system using a flush attachment before open water use.
