Installation Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Place the outboard in neutral and remove the lower unit (gearcase) mounting bolts.
Carefully lower and separate the gearcase from the upper housing.
Unbolt and remove the water pump housing cover to expose the impeller.
Note the rotational direction of the existing impeller blades before removal.
Remove the old impeller, key, and any gaskets or seals.
Clean the interior surfaces of the pump housing and inspect for scoring or wear.
Insert the new key and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft. Turn the shaft clockwise to help bend the blades correctly into the housing.
Reinstall the water pump housing, gaskets, and bolts, tightening to manufacturer specifications.
Reattach the lower unit to the outboard and secure the mounting bolts.
Test the engine using a water source (flushing attachment or in the water) to confirm proper water flow from the tell-tale outlet.
