Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and shift linkage before beginning work on the lower unit.
2. Unbolt and carefully lower the gearcase (lower unit) from the outboard motor's midsection.
3. Locate and remove the bolts securing the water pump housing cover.
4. Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, paying close attention to the rotational direction of the existing blades.
5. Clean any debris from the housing interior and inspect it for wear or damage.
6. Install the new impeller by sliding it onto the driveshaft while turning the shaft clockwise to seat the blades correctly.
7. Reassemble the housing, apply sealant to bolts if required by your service manual, and reinstall the lower unit.
