The listed applications primarily cover model years from the 1990s through 2006. • 1 × Carburetor assembly

Gaskets, hardware, hoses, and other installation components are not listed as included unless specifically shown with the product.

Installation Notes

  1. Work only on a cool engine in a well-ventilated area. Shut off the fuel supply and disconnect the battery where applicable.
  2. Remove the engine cowling and identify the existing carburetor connections.
  3. Label and disconnect the fuel lines, hoses, throttle linkage, choke linkage, and other connections attached to the original carburetor.
  4. Remove the mounting hardware and take off the old carburetor. Prevent dirt and loose hardware from entering the intake.
  5. Clean the mounting surface and remove old gasket material without damaging the mating surfaces.
  6. Install the correct gasket if supplied or specified by the engine service information, then position the replacement carburetor.
  7. Tighten the mounting hardware to the engine manufacturer's specified torque.
  8. Reconnect every hose and linkage to its original location and inspect the throttle and choke for unobstructed movement.
  9. Restore the fuel supply, prime the system if required, and check carefully for leaks before starting.
  10. Start and test the engine according to the service manual. Verify idle, acceleration, and fuel-system operation before use.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

How do I confirm fitment?

Match the original carburetor's manufacturer number and physical configuration first. Then compare the complete engine brand, model, horsepower, stroke, year, and serial-number information with the application details above. If any of these details differ, obtain confirmation before ordering.

What are common symptoms of a failing carburetor?

Hard starting, rough idle, stalling, poor acceleration, excessive fuel consumption, and dark exhaust smoke can be associated with carburetor problems. Fuel contamination, blocked passages, damaged gaskets, ignition faults, and other engine issues can produce similar symptoms.

Will tuning be required after installation?

Possibly. Final idle-speed or mixture adjustment may be required depending on the engine and service procedure. Use the manufacturer's service information and do not adjust beyond the specified range.

What should I check after installation?

Inspect all fuel connections for leaks, confirm that the throttle and choke operate freely, verify that the engine returns to idle correctly, and test the engine under safe conditions before returning the boat to service.

Is this an OEM part?

No. This is an aftermarket replacement assembly. The listed OEM and manufacturer numbers are provided as replacement or cross-reference identifiers and do not mean that the part is manufactured by Mercury, Mariner, Johnson, or Evinrude.

How often should a carburetor be replaced?

There is no universal replacement interval. Replace or rebuild the carburetor when cleaning and service no longer correct fuel-delivery or running problems. Proper fuel storage and fuel stabilizer use can help reduce varnish and deposit buildup.

Safety and Important Information

  • Verify the original part number and complete engine identification before purchase.
  • Do not rely on horsepower alone to determine compatibility.
  • Inspect the product and connections before operation, and check for fuel leaks after installation.
  • Professional installation is recommended when the correct procedure, adjustment specifications, or engine identification is uncertain.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement and is not supplied as an original OEM component.
