Product Details
This aftermarket VRO fuel pump replacement is designed for Johnson/Evinrude 90–115 HP, 2-stroke V4 engines with a 60-degree configuration and vapor-tank VRO system. It is a direct replacement fuel-pump assembly for applications that use the listed OEM references.
This replacement is intended for a non-oiling conversion: after the original VRO oil-injection function is removed or bypassed, the engine must be operated with properly premixed gasoline and 2-stroke oil. Confirm your complete engine model and original pump number before ordering.
- Designed for Johnson/Evinrude 60-degree V4 90–115 HP 2-stroke applications.
- For engines equipped with a vapor-tank VRO system.
- Replaces the original VRO pump when converting to premixed fuel operation.
- Use a 50:1 gasoline-to-2-stroke-oil premix unless your engine manufacturer specifies a different ratio.

- Record the routing of the fuel, pulse and oil lines before removing the original VRO pump.
- Disconnect the fuel inlet, fuel outlet, pulse/vacuum line and oil line from the original pump as applicable to your engine.
- Remove the original pump and install the replacement in the same approved mounting location. Use suitable mounting hardware and follow the engine service manual.
- Connect the fuel inlet, fuel outlet and pulse/vacuum line according to the engine’s original routing and the pump configuration.
- Cap or otherwise secure the unused oil line so that it cannot leak. Do not allow oil or fuel lines to contact hot or moving components.
- This replacement bypasses the VRO oil-injection function. Fill the fuel tank with the correct gasoline and 2-stroke-oil premix before operating the engine.
- Prime the fuel system, inspect every connection for leaks, and verify proper fuel delivery before starting the engine.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if this pump fits my engine?
Verify that your engine is a Johnson/Evinrude 90–115 HP, 2-stroke V4 with a 60-degree configuration and vapor-tank VRO system. Also compare the original pump with OEM references 5007420, 438400, 5004558, 5004559 or 5004562. Model and serial identification should be checked before ordering.
Does this replacement retain automatic VRO oil injection?
No. This is a non-oiling replacement intended to bypass the original VRO oil-injection function. The engine must be operated with correctly premixed gasoline and 2-stroke oil after installation.
What fuel mixture should I use?
Use a 50:1 gasoline-to-2-stroke-oil premix unless the engine manufacturer or service manual specifies another ratio. Premix the fuel before filling the tank and maintain the correct mixture during operation.
Does the package include a complete conversion hardware set?
The product is supplied as one replacement fuel pump. The package contents do not establish that hoses, gaskets, screws, tie straps or other conversion hardware are included; verify the physical contents before installation.
What are signs that the original pump may be failing?
Possible symptoms include difficult starting, fuel starvation, hesitation or loss of power, an engine that will not maintain RPM, and fuel leakage. Diagnose the complete fuel system before replacing the pump.
Is this an OEM component?
No. This listing is for an aftermarket replacement designed for the stated Johnson/Evinrude application. It is not sold as a genuine OEM component.
What should I verify before installation?
Confirm the engine model, horsepower, stroke, 60-degree V4 configuration, vapor-tank VRO arrangement, original pump connections and OEM reference. Do not install the pump if the physical configuration or reference does not match.
Safety & Important Info
- Fuel and fuel vapors are flammable. Work in a ventilated area away from sparks, flames and hot surfaces.
- Disconnect the battery before servicing the fuel system and clean up spills immediately.
- After conversion, never operate the engine on straight gasoline without the required 2-stroke oil premix.
- Verify the engine model, original pump and line routing before purchase and installation.
- Professional installation is recommended when modifying or bypassing an oil-injection system.
