  2. Remove the engine cowling for access.
  3. Carefully label and disconnect all fuel lines, vacuum hoses, and throttle/choke linkages attached to the carburetor.
  4. Unbolt and remove the old carburetor from the intake manifold. Be careful not to drop any hardware into the engine.
  5. Clean the mounting surface on the intake manifold, ensuring no old gasket material remains.
  6. Position the new gasket and install the new carburetor assembly, tightening bolts to the manufacturer-specified torque.
  7. Reconnect all linkages, hoses, and fuel lines to their original positions.
  8. Turn the fuel supply back on, prime the system if necessary, and reconnect the battery.
  9. Start the engine in a well-ventilated area. Check for fuel leaks and adjust the idle speed as needed according to your engine's service manual.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm this carburetor fits my outboard?

The best method is to match your old part number to the list in our Part Number Matrix. Second, check your engine's model, HP, and year against the Engine & Model Compatibility table. If you are still unsure, contact us with your engine's serial number and we can help verify.

What are common signs of a failing carburetor?

Symptoms of a bad carburetor include hard starting (cold or hot), rough idling, stalling at low speeds, poor acceleration, black smoke from the exhaust, and increased fuel consumption. These issues are often caused by internal clogs, worn gaskets, or improper float levels.

Why is my engine running rough after installing the new part?

First, double-check for vacuum leaks around the carburetor base gasket. Ensure all hoses and linkages are reconnected correctly. The new carburetor may require minor idle speed or air/fuel mixture adjustments to match your specific engine. Refer to your outboard’s service manual for the proper tuning procedure.

Is any tuning required after installation?

Our carburetors are preset to factory specifications, but final minor adjustments to the idle speed and air/fuel mixture screws are often necessary to achieve optimal performance for your specific engine and operating conditions.

How often should a carburetor be replaced?

There is no fixed replacement interval. Replacement is based on condition. With modern fuels, carburetors can get clogged with varnish and ethanol deposits, especially if the boat sits for long periods. Regular use of fuel stabilizer can extend its life. Replace it when cleaning and rebuilding no longer resolve performance issues.

What is the difference between OEM and aftermarket parts?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement, not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part. It is built to the same or higher OEM-level specifications using comparable materials in an ISO 9002 certified facility and is batch-inspected for quality and consistency.

How fast is shipping and what does it cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days for most regions. Standard shipping is free. Expedited shipping options, where available, will be presented at checkout with their associated costs.

What is the warranty and return policy?

This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If you encounter any issues, please contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for unused items in their original condition. See our full policy page or reach out for return instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
