  5. Working in a clean, well-ventilated area, disassemble the carburetor, organizing all parts.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if this kit fits my specific engine model?

First, check your existing carburetor for a part number and match it against our Part Number Matrix. Second, verify your engine's horsepower, cylinder count, and year fall within the ranges listed in the Engine & Model Compatibility table. When in doubt, consult your official service manual or a qualified marine mechanic.

What are the signs of a failing carburetor that needs a rebuild?

Common symptoms that indicate a rebuild is needed include rough idling, frequent stalling, poor or hesitant acceleration, bogging down under load, visible fuel leaks from the carburetor body, or difficulty starting the engine.

How often should an outboard carburetor be rebuilt?

Rebuild intervals depend heavily on usage, fuel quality (especially with ethanol blends), and whether the engine is properly stored in the off-season. As a general guideline, consider a rebuild every 2-3 years for preventative maintenance, or immediately if performance issues arise.

Does this kit include installation instructions?

Instructions are not included with the kit. Carburetor rebuilding is a precise task that varies by engine model. We strongly recommend using an official OEM service manual for your specific engine, which provides detailed diagrams and specifications.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It is built to meet or exceed OEM-level specifications with comparable materials and performance. Our parts are manufactured in an ISO 9002 certified facility and are batch-inspected for quality control and consistency.
