  2. Carefully remove the carburetors from the engine, disconnecting fuel lines and linkages. Label all connections to ensure correct reassembly.
  3. Disassemble one carburetor at a time to avoid mixing parts. Clean all metal components with a quality carburetor cleaner. Do not use cleaner on rubber or plastic parts.
  4. Inspect all parts for wear or damage. Carefully remove old gaskets and O-rings, ensuring mating surfaces are clean and smooth.
  5. Install the new components from the kit, including the needle, seat, gaskets, and seals. Ensure the float height is set to manufacturer specifications.

  7. Repeat the process for the remaining carburetors. After installation, check for leaks before starting the engine.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm this kit will fit my specific engine?

This kit fits a wide range of Johnson and Evinrude V4 and V6 engines. The best way to confirm fitment is to check your original carburetor's part number against the references in our Part Number Matrix. Additionally, cross-reference your engine's model and year in the Engine & Model Compatibility table.

What are common symptoms of a carburetor needing a rebuild?

Signs your carburetor may need servicing include hard starting, rough idling, stalling, poor acceleration, black smoke from the exhaust, or fuel leaking from the carburetor body. These issues are often caused by degraded gaskets, clogged jets, or an incorrect float setting.

Does this kit service one or multiple carburetors?

This kit contains the components to rebuild a single carburetor. If your V4 or V6 engine has multiple carburetors, you will need to purchase one kit for each carburetor to ensure a complete and balanced service.

Are any special tools required for this rebuild?

Standard mechanic's tools are generally sufficient, including screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers. A carburetor cleaning solvent is essential for removing varnish and deposits. In some cases, a tool to measure float height may be necessary to ensure it is set to the correct OEM specification.

What is the difference between an OEM and an aftermarket part?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It is built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Our parts are manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility and are batch-inspected for quality and consistency.

How fast do you ship and what does it cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

What is the warranty and return policy?

This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for items that are unused and in their original condition. Please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
