Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and shift linkage before beginning work.
2. Remove the lower unit (gearcase) bolts and carefully separate it from the engine's midsection.
3. Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing assembly from the gearcase.
4. Thoroughly clean the mounting surfaces and the driveshaft, removing any old gasket material or debris.
5. Install the new wear plate, gasket, and impeller key onto the driveshaft.
6. Lubricate the new impeller and housing interior with a marine-safe lubricant. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning clockwise to seat the vanes correctly within the housing.
7. Install the new pump cup and secure the complete housing assembly with the supplied bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer's specified torque.
8. Reinstall the lower unit onto the midsection, reconnect shift linkages, and secure all bolts.
9. Once assembled, test the engine in water to verify a strong, steady stream from the cooling system's tell-tale outlet.
