This kit serves as a direct interchange for OMC parts 983218 and 0983218, Sierra 18-3386 and 18-3286, GLM 12190, and Mallory 9-45286 and 9-45284.

Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is cool before starting work.
Locate the raw water pump. It is found on the bottom side of the upper unit of the sterndrive.
Remove the sterndrive's lower unit to gain access to the water pump assembly.
Carefully disassemble the old water pump, taking note of the orientation and order of all components.
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the housing and upper unit, removing any old gasket material or debris.
Install the new wear plate, gaskets, impeller, and seals from the kit. Lightly lubricate seals and the impeller to ease assembly.
Reassemble the housing and reinstall the lower unit, ensuring all bolts are torqued to manufacturer specifications.
After reassembly, reconnect the battery and test the engine using a water supply (flushing muffs or in the water) to verify proper water flow and check for leaks.
