Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if this hydrofoil will fit my motor?
Check the complete engine configuration, including brand, model, year, horsepower, stroke, exhaust routing, anode arrangement, anti-cavitation plate shape, and available clearance. Compare those details with the compatibility and exclusion tables before ordering.
Is drilling required for installation?
Yes. Installation requires four holes to be drilled in the motor’s anti-cavitation plate. The package includes a 6.5 mm drill bit and stainless-steel mounting hardware.
What benefits can I expect after installation?
The hydrofoil is designed to add stabilizing lift and may help the boat get on plane sooner, improve low-speed handling, and reduce porpoising. Results vary with the boat, motor, load, trim, and operating conditions.
Will this stop my boat from porpoising?
It may reduce porpoising by providing additional stabilizing lift at the stern, but no hydrofoil can guarantee the same result for every boat or setup.
Will this fit a Mercury 60 HP 4-stroke motor?
No. The listed compatibility exclusions include Mercury 4-stroke motors rated at 40, 50, and 60 HP.
Is this an OEM part?
No. This is an aftermarket replacement for the FO2003 reference. Confirm dimensions, mounting-hole requirements, and engine exclusions before installation.
Does the package include mounting hardware?
Yes. The package includes the hydrofoil, stainless-steel screws and nuts, a 6.5 mm drill bit, and installation instructions.
What warranty and return coverage applies?
Warranty and return coverage are subject to the current store policy. Review the applicable policy before purchase and contact support if you need assistance.
