Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and ensure the engine is off and cool to the touch.
2. Place the lower unit in a suitable stand after removing it from the outboard or stern drive.
3. Carefully remove the bolts securing the water pump housing and lift it off to expose the old components.
4. Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces, ensuring no old gasket material, sealant, or debris remains.
5. Install the new gaskets, face plate, impeller, and key from the kit. Be sure to orient the impeller vanes in the correct rotational direction (typically by turning the driveshaft clockwise while sliding the housing down).
6. Reassemble the water pump housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
7. Reinstall the lower unit onto the engine.
8. Reconnect the battery, start the engine in a water source (using a flusher or in the water), and immediately check for a steady water stream from the tell-tale outlet.
