Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm that this kit fits my engine?

Match the complete engine model, horsepower, stroke, and year against the compatibility table. Compare the existing water-pump part number with the references in the part-number matrix. If the model or year is uncertain, provide the engine serial number to a qualified marine-parts specialist before ordering.

What are the signs of a failing water pump?

Common signs include a weak or missing tell-tale stream, an overheating warning, or an impeller with cracked, brittle, damaged, or missing vanes.

How often should the water-pump impeller be replaced?

Replacement intervals depend on operating hours and water conditions. Inspect the impeller regularly and replace it according to the engine manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. Saltwater, sand, silt, and extended storage can increase wear.

Is the water-pump housing included?

No. This is a repair kit containing the impeller, plate, key, and gaskets. It is intended for use with the existing water-pump housing. Replace the housing separately if it is melted, scored, cracked, or excessively worn.

Can this kit be used on both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines?

Yes, the listed applications include selected Suzuki 2-stroke DT models and 4-stroke DF models, as well as the Johnson/Evinrude 4-stroke applications shown in the compatibility table. Verify the complete model and year before ordering.

Is this an OEM component?

No. This listing is for an aftermarket replacement kit. The OEM and aftermarket part numbers shown are reference numbers for compatibility and cross-reference purposes.

What are the shipping and return terms?

Shipping availability, delivery time, and return eligibility depend on the destination and the applicable store policies. Review the options shown at checkout and contact support for return instructions.

Safety & Important Information

  • Verify the engine model, year, stroke, horsepower, and existing part number before purchase.
  • Do not operate an outboard with an overheating engine or an inadequate tell-tale stream.
  • Follow the engine manufacturer’s service manual for removal procedures, torque specifications, lubrication, and testing.
  • Professional installation is recommended if you are not familiar with outboard lower-unit or water-pump service.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
