  6. Install the replacement filter with the flow direction oriented correctly.
  7. Push the hoses fully onto the barbs and secure them with suitable clamps.
  8. Restore the fuel supply and prime the system according to the engine manufacturer's procedure.
  9. Before operating the boat, start the engine and inspect every connection for fuel leakage.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm fitment?

Compare the original filter's manufacturer number, connection style, physical dimensions and flow direction. Then verify the complete engine model, year, stroke, shaft and serial-number information against the manufacturer's parts information. The references listed on this page are application leads and should not be treated as universal fitment for every engine in a horsepower range.

What are common signs of a restricted fuel filter?

Possible symptoms include hard starting, hesitation, sputtering, rough running or reduced power. A clear housing may help identify visible debris or water, but it does not replace proper fuel-system diagnosis.

How often should a fuel filter be replaced?

Replacement intervals vary with the engine, fuel quality, storage conditions and service schedule. Inspect the filter regularly and follow the engine manufacturer's maintenance recommendations. Replace it sooner if it is damaged, contaminated or restricted.

Is this an OEM filter?

No. This listing is for an aftermarket replacement assembly. The manufacturer and aftermarket references shown above are provided for identification and compatibility checking.

Can I reuse the old hose clamps?

Only if they remain clean, undamaged and appropriate for the hose and fuel system. Replace damaged or corroded clamps and confirm that every connection is secure before operating the engine.

What should I do if the filter or connections look different?

Do not force installation. Compare the replacement with the original component and confirm the application before using it. A different connection, flow direction or housing configuration may indicate that another filter is required.

Safety & Important Information

  • Fuel is flammable. Keep the work area ventilated and free of flames, sparks and smoking materials.
  • Verify the part number, physical configuration and complete engine application before purchase and installation.
  • Do not operate the engine if any fuel connection leaks.
  • Professional installation is recommended when the fuel system or engine application is uncertain.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
