Product Details

This outboard engine flush kit provides a convenient quick-connect solution for flushing compatible Mercury, Suzuki, and Yamaha 4-stroke outboard engines. The kit is intended to replace a compatible factory flush port and simplify the connection of a garden hose during routine freshwater flushing.

The kit is marketed as an aftermarket replacement associated with Mercury part number 22-888958001 and Suzuki part numbers 17913-93J00 and 17914-93J01. Always compare the original flush port, thread configuration, engine model, and manufacturer service information before installation.

  • Provides a permanent quick-connect flush-port installation on compatible engines.
  • Allows faster hose attachment and removal during maintenance.
  • Uses a UV-resistant ABS housing intended for marine environments.
  • Aftermarket replacement; not an original equipment manufacturer component.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × Male nipple valve for the outboard flush port
  • 1 × Female quick-connect coupler for a compatible standard garden hose

Installation Notes

  1. Ensure the engine is switched off and has cooled before beginning installation.
  2. Locate the factory flush port on the outboard engine housing.
  3. Remove the existing compatible flush-port plug or cap carefully.
  4. Clean the threads and surrounding area so the replacement can seat properly.
  5. Install the male nipple valve by hand first, then tighten gently with a wrench if necessary. Do not overtighten.
  6. Attach the female quick-connect coupler to a compatible garden hose.
  7. Snap the hose coupler onto the installed male valve until it locks securely.
  8. Turn on the water supply and follow the engine manufacturer's flushing procedure.
  9. After flushing, turn off the water supply, disconnect the coupler by pulling back its collar, and leave the male valve installed if the connection is intended to remain permanent.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How can I confirm fitment for my engine year?

Compare the engine brand, model, horsepower, stroke, model year or serial range, and original flush-port configuration with the information above. The listed horsepower ranges are general application information and do not replace model-specific verification.

Is this an OEM part?

No. This is an aftermarket replacement kit associated with the listed manufacturer part-number references. It is not supplied as an original Mercury, Suzuki, or Yamaha component.

What is the benefit of the quick-connect design?

Once installed on a compatible engine, the male valve remains in place and the hose can be attached or removed using the quick-connect coupler instead of repeatedly removing a threaded flush-port plug.

My engine is not listed. Will it fit?

Do not assume fitment based only on appearance. Confirm the thread size, sealing method, port location, and manufacturer application information before purchasing for an unlisted engine.

The connection is leaking. What should I check?

Stop using the connection and inspect the threads, sealing surface, gasket or O-ring, and quick-connect coupler for dirt, damage, or incorrect seating. Confirm that the valve is tightened securely without overtightening. If the leak continues, discontinue use and consult a qualified marine technician.

How often should I flush my outboard?

Freshwater flushing is commonly recommended after operation in saltwater and may also be appropriate after use in brackish, silty, or contaminated water. Follow the specific flushing instructions in your engine owner's manual.

What shipping and warranty terms apply?

Shipping availability, delivery time, return eligibility, and warranty handling depend on the order and applicable store policies. Review the current checkout and policy information before purchasing.

Safety & Important Information
