Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm this carburetor fits my engine?

Verify your engine's brand, model, and horsepower against our "Engine & Model Compatibility" table. This part is a confirmed fit for Tohatsu models like M9.9D2, M15D2, M18E2 and Nissan models NS9.9D2, NS15D2, NS18E2 that use the 3G2-03100-X series part numbers.

Are adjustments needed after installation?

The carburetor is preset for most applications, but minor idle speed or air/fuel mixture adjustments may be required for optimal performance depending on your specific engine condition, altitude, and climate.

What are common signs of a bad carburetor?

Symptoms of a failing carburetor include difficulty starting, rough or erratic idling, stalling at low speeds, poor acceleration, black smoke from the exhaust, and a noticeable increase in fuel consumption.

What is the difference between this and an OEM part?

This is an aftermarket component manufactured to meet or exceed original equipment specifications for fit, form, and function. It delivers comparable performance and reliability at a more accessible price point.

How often should a marine carburetor be serviced or replaced?

Service intervals vary based on usage, fuel quality, and storage habits. Regular cleaning is recommended. Replacement is typically needed only when cleaning no longer resolves performance issues or if internal components are excessively worn.

Is a new gasket included?

This part is intended to be installed with a new gasket to ensure a proper air-tight seal. Please check "What's in the Box" or purchase a suitable gasket separately.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
