Installation Notes

Professional installation is highly recommended. The following steps are a general guide:

  1. Disconnect the battery and fuel supply line safely.
  2. Remove the engine cowling and airbox assembly to access the carburetors.
  3. Carefully disconnect throttle linkages, choke linkages, and fuel hoses from the carburetors, noting their positions.
  4. Remove the mounting bolts and detach the carburetor bank from the intake manifold.
  5. Working on one carburetor at a time, disassemble it on a clean surface. Lay out all parts in order of removal.
  6. Thoroughly clean all metal components with a dedicated carburetor cleaning solvent. Do not use solvent on rubber or plastic parts.
  7. Replace all old gaskets, seals, O-rings, and the needle valve assembly with the new parts provided in the kit.
  8. Inspect the float for damage and replace if necessary. Set the float height to your engine's service manual specifications.
  9. Reassemble the carburetor carefully.
  10. Once all carburetors are rebuilt, reinstall them onto the engine, reconnecting all linkages and hoses.
  11. Turn on the fuel supply, prime the system, and inspect for any leaks before starting the engine.
  12. Adjust idle speed and air/fuel mixture screws as required by the manufacturer's service manual.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

What are the common signs that my carburetor needs to be rebuilt?

Symptoms include hard starting (especially when cold), rough or unstable idling, stalling at low speeds, hesitation or bogging on acceleration, excessive fuel consumption, and visible fuel leaks from the carburetor body.

My engine model is listed, but the parts in the kit look different. Should I install it?

No. If any part in the kit does not visually match the part you are replacing, do not proceed with the installation. Manufacturers sometimes make mid-year changes. Contact us with photos of your old parts and your engine's serial number to verify the correct kit.

Can I use this kit for a different engine horsepower or brand not listed?

We do not recommend it. This kit is specifically designed for the Yamaha and Tohatsu models listed. Using it on other engines may result in poor performance, fuel leaks, or engine damage, as jet sizes, gaskets, and other components may not be compatible.

Why are there conflicting part numbers for the needle valve and cap?

Part numbers often change over time due to supersessions or minor design updates from the manufacturer. Our primary source indicates this kit uses Needle Valve 6H3-14590-01-00 and Cap 676-14966-00-00, which are functionally equivalent to the alternate numbers for the models listed.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It's built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, it's batch-inspected for consistency.

What is your shipping speed and cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days for most regions. Standard shipping is free; expedited options will appear at checkout if they are available for your location.

What is the warranty and return policy?

This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If any issues arise, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for items that are unused and in original condition. Please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images and specifications against your original part before purchase. If anything differs—even if your model is listed as compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement component, not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part.
  • Professional installation is strongly recommended for safety, performance, and to prevent damage to your engine.
