Installation Notes
- Ensure the engine is off, cool, and the battery is disconnected. Close the nearest seacock to prevent water ingress.
- Remove the sea water pump's end cover screws and cover plate.
- Carefully remove the old O-ring or gasket and the worn impeller. Note the rotational direction of the old impeller fins if possible.
- Extract the old shaft, seals, and bushings from the pump housing.
- Thoroughly clean the interior of the pump housing, removing all debris, scale, and old gasket material.
- Install the new bushings and press in the new seals according to the included instructions, ensuring they are correctly oriented.
- Insert the new shaft and key. Lightly lubricate the new impeller and slide it onto the shaft with a turning motion in the direction of engine rotation.
- Place the new gasket or sealing ring on the housing, replace the cover, and tighten the screws evenly in a star pattern.
- Reconnect all hoses, open the seacock, and reconnect the battery.
- Start the engine and immediately check for proper water flow from the exhaust and for any leaks around the pump housing.
