Product Details

This water pump impeller is an aftermarket replacement component for selected Yamaha 8, 9.9, 15, and 20 HP outboard motors. It helps the water pump circulate cooling water through the engine and is intended to restore proper cooling performance when the original impeller is worn, cracked, hardened, or damaged.

The impeller replaces Yamaha part numbers 63V-44352-00-00 and 63V-44352-01-00. Catalog records associate these Yamaha references with selected 2-stroke 9.9 HP and 15 HP models from the mid-to-late 1990s and early 2000s, as well as selected 4-stroke F15 models. Because compatibility can vary by exact model code and production year, verify the complete engine model and the impeller dimensions before ordering.

  • Direct replacement water pump impeller for selected Yamaha outboards.
  • Flexible neoprene-rubber construction for water-pump service.
  • Six-blade design with a 13 mm shaft diameter, 52.83 mm overall diameter, and 14.22 mm height.
  • Designed for replacement of a worn impeller; inspect the housing, wear plate, and keyway during installation.

Part Number Matrix

These are customer-facing OEM and aftermarket reference numbers associated with this replacement impeller. They should be used together with the engine model and year, not as the sole basis for fitment.

What's in the Box

  • 1 x Water pump impeller

This is a single replacement impeller. The key, gasket, housing, wear plate, and other water-pump components are not included unless specifically supplied with the original application.

Installation Notes

  1. Turn off the engine, remove the ignition key, disconnect the battery where applicable, and place the outboard in a stable position.
  2. Remove the lower unit according to the service instructions for your exact Yamaha model.
  3. Remove the water-pump housing and note the original impeller blade direction before removing the old impeller.
  4. Inspect the pump housing, base plate, drive key, and sealing surfaces for wear, corrosion, or damage. Replace damaged parts before reassembly.
  5. Clean debris from the pump cavity and shaft. Reuse the drive key only if it is undamaged and properly fitted.
  6. Apply a light coating of clean water or a suitable marine lubricant to the new impeller and housing. Do not use petroleum products that may damage rubber.
  7. Install the impeller with the blades bent in the same rotational direction as the original. Do not force the impeller over the key or onto a damaged shaft.
  8. Reinstall the housing and lower unit using the manufacturer's torque specifications and sealing requirements.
  9. Refill the lower unit with the specified gear lubricant, then run the engine in water or with the correct flushing equipment.
  10. Confirm a steady telltale stream and monitor the engine for overheating before returning the boat to service.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm fitment?

Compare the complete Yamaha model code, horsepower, stroke, production year, and original impeller number with the compatibility information above. Dimension and keyway differences can exist between visually similar applications. Consult the owner's or service manual when the model code is unavailable.

What are the signs of a failing impeller?

Common signs include a weak or missing telltale stream, an overheating warning, rising engine temperature, steam, or visible cracking and deformation of the old impeller. Stop the engine if overheating occurs and investigate the cooling system.

How often should the impeller be replaced?

Replacement intervals depend on use, storage conditions, water quality, and the engine manufacturer's service schedule. Inspect the impeller during scheduled maintenance and replace it sooner if it is hardened, cracked, permanently bent, or missing blade material.

What is the difference between 63V-44352-00-00 and 63V-44352-01-00?

Both numbers are Yamaha impeller references found in model catalogs. The -00-00 reference appears in earlier applications, while the -01-00 reference appears in later and selected 4-stroke applications. Confirm the exact engine model and year rather than assuming that the two numbers apply to every Yamaha outboard in the stated horsepower range.

Is this an OEM part?

No. This listing is for an aftermarket replacement impeller. Yamaha part numbers are shown only as application and replacement references.

Does the package include a key or gasket?

No. The package contains one impeller only. A drive key, gasket, wear plate, housing, and other service parts are not included unless separately stated for your order.

Safety & Important Information

  • Never run an outboard without adequate cooling water or the manufacturer's approved flushing equipment.
  • Verify the complete engine model and original part number before ordering.
  • Inspect the pump housing, wear plate, key, and shaft whenever the impeller is replaced.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement component, not a Yamaha-branded OEM part.
  • Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with lower-unit service.
