Part Number References

The following Yamaha numbers are commonly supplied as interchange references for this style of fuel line assembly. They do not replace the need to compare your original part before installation.

Yamaha 61J-24306-04-00
Yamaha 6Y2-24306-56

Engine and Model Compatibility

This replacement is intended for compatible Yamaha outboard applications, but a general horsepower range is not sufficient to confirm fitment. Yamaha fuel-line connections can vary by engine, tank, model year, and fuel-system configuration.

Before purchase, compare the original assembly with this product, including the tank-side and engine-side connectors, hose inner diameter, overall length, primer-bulb orientation, and the reference number shown on the original part. Do not rely on horsepower alone to determine compatibility.

Installation Notes

  1. Turn the engine off, allow it to cool, and work in a well-ventilated area away from flames, sparks, and other ignition sources.
  2. Disconnect the existing fuel line from the tank and outboard by releasing the connectors. Prevent spilled fuel from contacting hot surfaces.
  3. Compare the replacement connectors and hose diameter with the original assembly before installation.
  4. Connect the new fuel line to the matching tank-side and engine-side fittings. Ensure each connector is fully seated.
  5. Position the primer bulb so its arrow points in the direction of fuel flow, from the tank toward the engine.
  6. Squeeze the primer bulb several times until it becomes firm, then inspect the hose, bulb, and connection points for leaks before starting the engine.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

How do I know if my fuel line needs replacing?

Inspect the hose and primer bulb for cracks, kinks, brittleness, hardening, swelling, fuel leakage, or a persistent gasoline odor. A bulb that collapses, will not refill, or remains soft may also indicate an air leak, restriction, or failed check valve.

Will this fit my specific Yamaha outboard?

Fitment must be confirmed by comparing the original part and connectors. Check the Yamaha reference number, hose inner diameter, assembly length, connector style, and fuel-flow direction. Horsepower or engine family alone does not confirm compatibility.

Is this fuel line suitable for ethanol-blended fuel?

The assembly is described as compatible with gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol. Use fuel that complies with your engine manufacturer's recommendations and inspect the line regularly for deterioration.

Why will the primer bulb not become firm?

Check that both connectors are fully seated, the bulb arrow points toward the engine, and the hose is not kinked. If the bulb remains soft, inspect for an air leak, a blocked fuel path, or a defective bulb check valve.

How often should an outboard fuel line be inspected?

Inspect the fuel line before each period of use and during regular maintenance. Replace it immediately if cracking, hardening, swelling, leakage, or other damage is found. Sunlight, heat, fuel exposure, and saltwater can accelerate deterioration.

Is this an OEM Yamaha part?

No. This listing is for an aftermarket replacement assembly. The Yamaha numbers shown above are reference numbers used to help compare applications; they do not indicate that this product is manufactured by Yamaha.

What warranty and return coverage applies?

Warranty and return eligibility are subject to the seller's current policies. Contact support with your order details if the item arrives damaged or a manufacturing problem is identified.

Safety and Important Information

  • Verify the original part, connectors, hose diameter, and dimensions before purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement component, not an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) part.
  • Never install a fuel line that leaks, is kinked, or has a loose connection.
  • Fuel-system work carries fire and environmental risks. Follow the engine and fuel-system manufacturer's safety instructions, and seek professional assistance if necessary.
