Troubleshooting & FAQ

What symptoms can indicate a failing fuel pump?

Possible symptoms include hard starting, hesitation, loss of power, sputtering or stalling under load. These symptoms can also be caused by restricted filters, contaminated fuel, air leaks or other fuel-system faults, so test the complete system before replacing the pump.

How do I verify fitment?

Match the reference number on the original pump with the numbers listed above, then confirm the exact engine model, horsepower, stroke and serial-number range. Also compare the pump's ports, mounting holes and physical configuration.

Is this a complete assembly?

Yes. The package contains one complete aftermarket fuel pump assembly. Confirm whether your application requires a separate gasket, seal or mounting hardware before installation.

Is this an OEM part?

No. This is an aftermarket replacement. Yamaha, Mercury and Mariner reference numbers are used only to identify compatible applications and are the property of their respective owners.

Does the pump require routine maintenance?

The pump itself is not normally serviced as a routine maintenance item. Use clean fuel, maintain the engine's fuel filters and inspect fuel lines and connections regularly.

Safety & Important Information

  • Fuel is flammable. Work in a well-ventilated area away from flames, sparks and ignition sources.
  • Do not operate the engine if fuel leaks are present.
  • Verify the original part number, model, year or serial range and physical configuration before ordering.
  • Professional installation is recommended when the correct fuel-system procedure or torque specifications are uncertain.
  • This replacement is not manufactured by or affiliated with Yamaha, Mercury or Mariner.
