Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover.
- Drain the lower unit's gearcase oil into a suitable container.
- Remove the bolts securing the lower unit to the upper casing and carefully lower the gearcase.
- Unbolt and remove the water-pump housing to access the impeller.
- Remove the old impeller, key, gaskets, and wear plates. Note their orientation.
- Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly, removing old gasket material and corrosion.
- Install the new base gasket, outer plate, insert cup, and impeller key.
- Slide the new impeller into place while turning the driveshaft clockwise so the vanes seat correctly.
- Install the new O-rings and gaskets, then reassemble the housing. Torque the bolts to the engine manufacturer's specifications.
- Reinstall the lower unit, refill it with fresh gear oil, and test the engine using an appropriate water supply or flusher.
