Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm that this filter fits my Yamaha outboard?

Confirm that your engine is a Yamaha F150–F250 4-Stroke from 2006–2021 and that the installed filter housing is marked 6P3. Also compare the original filter and reference number before ordering.

Does this filter fit Yamaha 2-Stroke, Z/VZ, F300 or F350 models?

Those applications are not included in the company fitment for this product. Do not rely on horsepower alone; use the exact engine model, year and housing marking to confirm compatibility.

Which Suzuki engines are listed?

The company fitment lists Suzuki DF200, DF225, DF250 and DF300 outboards from 2011 and later. Verify the exact model and original filter reference before installation.

Is this a complete filter assembly?

No. This listing is for one replacement filter element. The original filter housing remains installed on the engine, and sealing components are not stated as included.

Is the O-ring included?

An O-ring or gasket is not listed as part of the package contents. Inspect the existing seal and obtain the correct replacement separately if necessary.

Is this an OEM filter?

This listing is for an aftermarket replacement filter element. Yamaha, Suzuki and Sierra numbers shown on this page are customer-facing manufacturer or aftermarket reference numbers used for identification.

What should I do if the replacement looks different from my original filter?

Do not install it. Compare the housing marking, dimensions, sealing arrangement and reference number, then consult the engine service information or a qualified marine technician.

Safety & Important Information

  • Fuel is flammable. Work in a well-ventilated area away from flames, sparks and ignition sources.
  • Relieve or control fuel pressure as directed by the engine manufacturer before opening the housing.
  • Always verify the exact engine model, year, housing marking and original filter number before ordering.
  • Check carefully for fuel leaks after installation and before returning the boat to service.
  • Professional installation is recommended when the fuel-system layout or service procedure is unfamiliar.
