What are the signs my old carburetor is failing?

Common symptoms of a faulty carburetor include difficulty starting, rough idling, frequent stalling, poor acceleration, hesitation, black smoke from the exhaust, and visible fuel leaks.

Is this an OEM part?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It is built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials, manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, and batch-inspected for consistency.
