Troubleshooting & FAQ

What are the signs of a failing fuel pump?

Common symptoms include difficult starting, sputtering at higher speeds, loss of power, stalling, or an unusually loud whining noise from the fuel-tank area. These symptoms can have other causes, so test the fuel system before replacing parts.

Will this fit my Mercury 225 HP engine?

It is listed for certain Mercury-branded 225 HP four-stroke, six-cylinder outboards from 2003–2006 that use a Yamaha-based powerhead. Confirm the engine model, year, connector, and original pump reference before ordering.

Is a new fuel strainer included?

Yes. The package includes one electric fuel pump and one replacement strainer with applicable installation accessories.

What are the stated flow rate and pressure?

The stated operating figures are 100–120 liters per hour at 3.0 bar when supplied with 13.5 V.

Does this replace the entire fuel-pump assembly?

No. This product replaces the electric pump and strainer inside a compatible fuel-pump module. The complete housing and fuel-tank module are not included.

Why are F115 and LF115 models listed?

Some aftermarket application references list compatible F115 and LF115 four-stroke models from 2000–2011. Because this is outside the primary 200–225 HP application range, verify the original component and electrical connector carefully.

Is this an OEM part?

No. This is an aftermarket replacement intended for compatible applications and reference numbers. It is not sold as a genuine Yamaha or Mercury component.

What should I check before ordering?

Confirm the complete engine model, year, horsepower, stroke, rotation where applicable, connector style, pump dimensions, and reference number. Do not rely on horsepower alone to establish fitment.

Safety & Important Information

  • Fuel-system work involves flammable fuel. Disconnect the battery, relieve pressure, prevent spills, and keep all ignition sources away from the work area.
  • Compare the original pump, strainer, connector, and dimensions before installation.
  • Professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with marine fuel systems.
  • Inspect all connections for leaks before operating the engine.
