Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is off and completely cool before starting.
2. Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor according to your service manual.
3. Unbolt and carefully remove the existing water pump assembly. Note the orientation of all parts.
4. Remove the old impeller, wear plate, gaskets, and seals, cleaning any corrosion or debris from the housing surfaces.
5. Install the new gasket and wear plate onto the lower unit.
6. Slide the new Woodruff key onto the driveshaft and install the new impeller, turning the shaft clockwise to bed the vanes.
7. Fit the new O-rings and dowel pins, then reinstall the water pump housing and tighten bolts to the specified torque.
8. Reattach the lower unit to the engine, ensuring the driveshaft and shift shaft align correctly.
9. Once assembled, test the engine in the water or with a suitable flush device to confirm proper water flow from the tell-tale outlet.
