Installation Notes

Shut off the engine and close the raw water intake valve (seacock).
Remove the screws from the water pump's end cover plate.
Carefully remove the old impeller, using pliers if necessary. Note the orientation of the blades.
Clean the inside of the pump housing and the cover plate, removing any old gasket material or debris.
Position the new gasket against the housing.
Lubricate the new impeller with a small amount of water-resistant grease or dish soap, then install it with a twisting motion, ensuring the blades bend in the same direction as the old one.
Reinstall the end cover plate, tighten the screws evenly, and reopen the seacock.
Start the engine and check for proper water flow and for any leaks around the pump cover.

How do I know if my impeller needs replacing?

Common signs of a failing impeller include engine overheating, a noticeable reduction in water flow from the exhaust, visible cracks or missing blades, or inflexible, stiffened blade material.

How often should I replace my impeller?

For preventative maintenance, we recommend replacing your impeller annually or every 100-200 hours of engine use, whichever comes first. Replacement may be needed sooner in environments with high levels of sand or silt.

Will this fit my specific engine if it's not on the list?

While this impeller fits a wide variety of models, we can only guarantee compatibility for the engines and pumps explicitly listed. Always check your OEM part number and the impeller dimensions (Diameter: 57mm, Width: 31.5mm) against your old part before ordering.

What is the difference between a neoprene and nitrile impeller?
