Troubleshooting & FAQ
How is this different from the original VRO pump?
This is a VRO conversion or "delete" pump. It simplifies the fuel system by removing the failure-prone variable-ratio oil injection feature. Unlike the OEM pump, it does not mix oil and gas automatically; you are required to manually premix TC-W3 outboard oil with your gasoline at a 50:1 ratio in the fuel tank.
Will this pump fit my specific engine model?
This pump is designed for Johnson and Evinrude 60-degree V4 and V6 outboards made between 1991 and 2006. Please carefully review the "Engine & Model Compatibility" table and cross-reference your OEM part number to ensure a correct fit.
What are the signs my old VRO pump is failing?
Common symptoms of a failing fuel pump include the engine bogging down under acceleration, difficulty starting, sputtering at high speeds, inconsistent RPMs, or a complete failure to start. A compromised VRO can also lead to improper oiling and catastrophic engine damage.
What fuel-to-oil ratio should I use with this pump?
You must use a 50:1 premix ratio. This translates to 2.56 US fluid ounces of TC-W3 rated 2-stroke outboard oil for every 1 US gallon of gasoline.
Is any modification required to install this pump?
No permanent modification is required. The kit is designed for direct replacement. You will simply disconnect and remove your old VRO pump and install this one. The oil tank and lines can be removed or left in place, but they will no longer be functional.
Is this part OEM or aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
What are your shipping speed and cost?
We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.
What is the warranty and return policy?
Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
