Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and close the engine's water inlet valve (seacock).
2. Place a suitable container below the sea water pump to catch any spilled coolant.
3. Remove the screws securing the pump's end cover and carefully pry the cover off.
4. Note the rotational direction of the existing impeller vanes before removal. Use pliers or an impeller puller to extract the old impeller.
5. Clean the interior of the pump housing and the end cover sealing surface. Inspect for scoring or damage.
6. Remove the old O-ring and install the new one provided in the kit.
7. Lightly lubricate the inside of the pump housing and the new impeller with water-resistant grease or dish soap.
8. Insert the new impeller into the housing, rotating the driveshaft in the normal direction of engine operation to correctly bend the vanes.
9. Reinstall the end cover and tighten the screws evenly in a star pattern to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Open the seacock, reconnect the battery cable, and start the engine. Immediately check for water leaks and verify proper water flow from the exhaust.
