Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and ignition system for safety.
Place the outboard in neutral and remove the lower unit (gearcase) bolts.
Carefully separate the lower unit from the upper housing to access the water pump.
Remove the water pump housing bolts to expose the old impeller.
Note the orientation of the old impeller blades before removing it from the driveshaft.
Clean the housing and wear plate, inspecting for scoring or damage. Replace if necessary.
Install the new impeller, ensuring the key/pin is correctly seated in the driveshaft keyway.
Lubricate the impeller and housing interior with a marine-safe lubricant.
Reinstall the water pump housing, ensuring blades are oriented correctly (typically bent counter to driveshaft rotation).
Re-attach the lower unit, apply correct torque to bolts, and reconnect the battery. Test run the engine with a water supply.
