Troubleshooting & FAQ

How can I confirm this impeller fits my specific engine?

Match the engine brand, horsepower and year range in the compatibility table, then compare the applicable OEM or aftermarket reference with your existing part or service manual. Also compare the impeller dimensions and pump configuration. If any of these details differ, do not assume compatibility from horsepower alone.

What are the signs of a failing water-pump impeller?

Common symptoms include overheating at idle or low speed, a weak or missing telltale stream, steam from the exhaust and visible cracking, brittleness or missing blades on the removed impeller. Stop operating the engine if overheating occurs.

How often should I replace the impeller?

Inspect the impeller according to the engine manufacturer's maintenance schedule and replace it when it shows wear, deformation, cracking or loss of flexibility. Replacement intervals can be shorter in sandy, silty or saltwater conditions.

Does this listing include the drive key or pin?

No. The package contains one water pump impeller only. Retain the original drive key if it is serviceable, or obtain the correct replacement key separately for your specific pump assembly.

Is this an OEM part?

No. This is an aftermarket replacement impeller. The OEM and aftermarket numbers shown above are reference numbers used to help identify compatible applications and are not a statement that this product was manufactured by the original equipment brand.

What should I do before ordering?

Verify the engine brand, horsepower, year, model information and part-number reference. Compare the old impeller with the listed dimensions and confirm whether your pump requires a separate key, gasket or other service components.

Safety & Important Information

  • Use the compatibility table as an application guide, not as a substitute for the engine service manual.
  • Disconnect power before disassembly and support the outboard securely when removing the lower unit.
  • Do not run the engine without an adequate water supply.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement component, not an original equipment part.
  • Professional installation is recommended when lower-unit or water-pump service is unfamiliar.
