Installation Notes

1. Confirm the outboard model, year, serial number, and original impeller reference before beginning work.
2. Disconnect the spark plug wires and place the outboard in neutral.
3. Support the outboard securely, then remove the lower unit according to the engine manufacturer's service procedure.
4. Remove the water pump housing and expose the existing impeller.
5. Inspect the water pump housing, wear plate, drive key, and related components for wear or damage. Replace damaged components as required; these parts are not included with this impeller.
6. Remove the old impeller and clean debris or corrosion from the housing and wear-plate surfaces.
7. Install the replacement impeller in the correct orientation for the engine's direction of rotation.
8. Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.
9. Reassemble the lower unit, then test the cooling-water discharge and monitor the engine for proper cooling before normal operation.

For safety and correct sealing, follow the service manual for your exact engine model. If the water pump housing or wear plate is worn, replacing only the impeller may not restore proper water flow.
