Installation Notes

Disconnect the spark plug wires and shift the outboard into neutral.
Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the gear oil drain and vent screws to empty the oil.
Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper leg of the outboard.
Carefully lower the gearcase away from the engine. You may need to disconnect a speedometer tube.
Unbolt and remove the water pump housing to expose the old impeller.
Take note of the blade orientation, then slide the old impeller and drive key off the driveshaft.
Clean the housing interior and wear plate of any debris or corrosion.
Install the new drive key and slide the new impeller onto the shaft, rotating it in the direction of engine rotation to seat the blades correctly.
Reinstall the water pump housing, ensuring a good seal. Torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
Reassemble the lower unit to the engine, reinstall gear oil, and test the cooling system on the water.

Will this fit my 1999 Suzuki DF15?

No. This impeller is specifically for the 1997–1998 DF9.9 and DF15 models. Later years use a different part. Always verify your engine's year and model before ordering.

The small key fits into a slot on the driveshaft and locks the impeller in place, ensuring it spins with the shaft to pump water. Do not reuse a worn or damaged key.
