- Position the new gasket correctly on the engine block; it should align perfectly with the bolt holes and ports.
- Reinstall the exhaust manifold, starting all bolts by hand to prevent cross-threading.
- Tighten the manifold bolts in the sequence and to the torque specifications recommended in your engine's service manual.
- Reconnect all hoses and sensors.
- Refill the engine with coolant.
- Start the engine and carefully check for any exhaust or coolant leaks around the manifold.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if this gasket will fit my engine?
First, check the Part Number Matrix to see if your old part number is listed as a cross-reference. Then, review the Engine & Model Compatibility table to find your specific engine model and year. For final confirmation, always compare the product images to your original part before ordering.
What are the signs of a failed exhaust manifold gasket?
Common signs of a bad gasket include unusually loud engine noise (ticking or puffing sounds) from the engine bay, visible black soot streaks around the manifold seal, the smell of exhaust fumes near the engine, and a potential loss of engine performance or fuel efficiency.
How often should this gasket be replaced?
The gasket should be replaced any time the exhaust manifold is removed for other service or as soon as any signs of failure are detected. There is no set replacement interval; its lifespan depends on operating conditions and engine health.
Is any sealant required when installing this gasket?
Most gaskets of this type are designed for dry installation. Using sealant can sometimes interfere with a proper seal. We strongly recommend consulting your official service manual for the manufacturer's specific procedure for your engine model.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
