Installation Notes

  1. Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into neutral.

  10. Raise the lower unit back into place, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly. Secure the bolts.
  11. Refill the gearcase with the specified oil.
  12. Reconnect the battery and test the engine using a water supply (flusher or in water) to confirm cooling system operation.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How can I confirm this impeller fits my engine?

The best way is to cross-reference your existing part number with those listed in the "Part Number Matrix." If you cannot find it, check the "Engine & Model Compatibility" tables. Always verify your engine's model, HP, and year (or serial number) against the chart.

What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?

Common symptoms include the engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a weak or non-existent "telltale" water stream, or a high engine temperature alarm. Visually, a worn impeller will have cracked, brittle, or permanently curved blades.

How often should I replace the water pump impeller?

As a general maintenance rule, it is recommended to inspect and/or replace the impeller every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of operation, depending on usage conditions (e.g., more frequently in saltwater or sandy/silty water).

Is a gasket or water pump repair kit included?

This listing is for the impeller only. Gaskets, housing, wear plates, and other components of a full water pump repair kit are sold separately. It is highly recommended to replace gaskets when servicing the impeller.

Why did my new impeller fail shortly after installation?

Premature failure is often caused by running the engine dry (even for a few seconds), which burns the neoprene blades. Other causes include debris in the cooling system, a scored or warped pump housing, or incorrect installation (e.g., blades folded in the wrong direction).

Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It is built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Our parts are manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility and are batch-inspected for quality and consistency.

What are the shipping speed and cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options will appear at checkout where available for your location.

What is the warranty and return policy?

This part is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If any issues arise, please contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for unused parts in their original condition. See our full policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
