Product Details

This Water Pump Impeller Service Kit is designed for cooling-system maintenance on selected Suzuki 4-stroke outboard motors, including the DF8A, DF9.9A, DF9.9B, DF15A and DF20A. Replacing a worn impeller helps maintain proper cooling-water circulation and reduces the risk of overheating caused by damaged, hardened or missing impeller vanes.

This is an aftermarket replacement service kit, not a Suzuki-manufactured OEM component. It is associated with Suzuki water-pump references including 17400-99840, 17400-99841, 17400-99J00, 17400-99J01 and 17400-99J20. Confirm the complete engine model, stroke, year or serial range and the original pump components before ordering.

  • For selected Suzuki 4-stroke outboard water-pump applications.
  • Supplies the principal parts needed for the listed water-pump service.
  • Suitable for routine maintenance when the engine and original components match the application information below.
  • Inspect the original parts and service-manual requirements before installation.

Part Number References

The following Suzuki part numbers are reference numbers associated with this application. They should be used together with the engine model and service-manual information; a matching number alone does not confirm fitment for every engine configuration.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

What are common signs of a failing water-pump impeller?

Symptoms can include engine overheating, a weak or intermittent tell-tale stream, reduced cooling-water flow and visibly cracked, brittle or missing impeller vanes. Stop operation if the engine overheats and inspect the cooling system.

How often should the impeller be replaced?

Replacement timing depends on operating hours, storage conditions, water quality and the engine manufacturer’s service schedule. Inspect the impeller during scheduled maintenance and replace it when the service manual recommends or whenever wear or damage is found.

Will this fit a Suzuki model not listed here?

Do not assume fitment for an unlisted model. Compare the complete engine model, stroke, year or serial range, original part number and pump-component dimensions with the service information before ordering.

Does the kit include O-rings?

No additional O-rings are included unless they appear in the box contents above. Some Suzuki water-pump diagrams call for separate O-rings, so check the service manual for your exact engine configuration.

Is this an OEM Suzuki part?

No. This listing is for an aftermarket replacement service kit intended for the stated Suzuki applications. Suzuki and its part numbers are used only to identify the intended application and reference parts.

Safety & Important Information

  • Confirm the complete engine model, stroke, year or serial range and original part before ordering.
  • Do not run an outboard without an adequate water supply or approved flushing arrangement.
  • Stop testing immediately if the engine overheats, the tell-tale stream is weak or abnormal noise occurs.
  • Professional installation is recommended when lower-unit removal or water-pump service is unfamiliar.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not a Suzuki OEM component.
