Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into neutral.
2. Drain the lower-unit gear lubricant.
3. Remove the fasteners securing the lower unit to the upper casing and carefully lower the unit.
4. Unbolt and remove the existing water pump housing assembly.
5. Clean the mounting surfaces and driveshaft spline area.
6. Install the key, gaskets, wear plate, and impeller into the replacement housing. Use only lubricant suitable for the application.
7. Lower the water pump assembly over the driveshaft, ensuring the impeller vanes are oriented for the correct rotation.
8. Secure the housing with the supplied bolts and tighten according to the applicable manufacturer service specifications.
9. Reinstall the lower unit and refill it with the specified gear lubricant.
10. Reconnect the battery and test the engine with an appropriate water supply, checking for a strong telltale stream.
