Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into neutral.
2. Drain the lower unit gear lube.
3. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit to the upper casing and carefully lower it.
4. Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing assembly.
5. Clean the mounting surfaces and driveshaft spline area.
6. Install the new key, gaskets, wear plate, and impeller into the new housing. A light coat of marine grease can ease assembly.
7. Slide the new water pump assembly down the driveshaft, ensuring the impeller fins are turned in the correct rotational direction.
8. Secure the new housing with the provided bolts and torque to manufacturer specifications.
9. Reinstall the lower unit, refilling it with fresh gear lube.
10. Reconnect the battery and test the engine using a water source (flushing muffs), checking for a strong telltale stream.
