Troubleshooting & FAQ

How can I tell if my propeller shaft seal is failing?

The most common signs of a failed propeller shaft seal are milky, creamy, or cloudy gear lube (which indicates water has mixed with the oil) or a visible gear oil leak around the propeller shaft area of your lower unit.

Will this seal fit my specific Yamaha F150 from 2015?

Yes, this seal is designed for a broad range of Yamaha 115-300 HP engines from 1984 onwards, including the F-Series. For absolute certainty, please consult the Engine & Model Compatibility table and verify the OEM part number 93101-30M17-00 is correct for your motor.

What is the recommended replacement interval for these seals?

Propeller shaft seals should be inspected during any routine lower unit service. It is recommended to replace them every 1-3 years as preventative maintenance, or immediately if you notice any signs of water intrusion or oil leaks.

Why are there two seals included in the package?

Many Yamaha lower unit designs utilize two propeller shaft seals installed back-to-back in the bearing carrier. This package includes a set of two seals to complete the job correctly.

Is this an OEM Yamaha part?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It is built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials, manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, and batch-inspected for consistency and quality.

How fast is shipping?
