Product Details

This Carburetor Repair Kit is an aftermarket service kit for selected 2-stroke Mercury, Mariner, Yamaha and Tohatsu/Nissan small outboard carburetors. It is intended to replace commonly serviced carburetor components and help restore reliable fuel metering, starting and idle performance when the existing parts are worn or damaged.

The kit is associated with Tohatsu/Nissan part 369-87122-1 and is also listed with 3B2-87122-0, Mercury reference 11502M, Yamaha reference 6G1-W0093-00-00, and Sierra reference 18-7765. These references apply only where the engine and carburetor configuration match; part-number similarity alone does not confirm fitment.

  • Designed for selected 2-stroke outboard carburetor applications in the 3–8 HP range.
  • Replaces service items such as gaskets, the float, needle valve and related hardware included in the kit.
  • Aftermarket replacement part; not manufactured by Mercury, Mariner, Yamaha, Tohatsu, Nissan or Sierra.

Installation Notes

  1. Turn off the fuel supply and disconnect the fuel line in a well-ventilated work area.
  2. Remove the carburetor assembly from the engine according to the engine service procedure.
  3. Disassemble the carburetor on a clean, organized surface and document the original component positions.
  4. Clean the reusable metal carburetor parts with an appropriate carburetor cleaner. Keep cleaner away from rubber, plastic and other parts that may be damaged by solvents.
  5. Replace the applicable gaskets, O-ring, float, needle valve, pins and hardware supplied in the kit.
  6. Inspect the carburetor body, fuel passages and threads for damage. A repair kit will not correct a damaged or severely corroded carburetor body.
  7. Reassemble the carburetor and set the float according to the engine manufacturer's service information.
  8. Reinstall the carburetor, reconnect the fuel line and check carefully for leaks before starting the engine.
  9. After the engine reaches operating temperature, complete any required idle or mixture adjustment using the applicable service procedure.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm fitment?

Compare the complete engine model, horsepower, stroke, year and serial information with the compatibility information above. Also compare the carburetor body, gasket shape, float and needle valve with the original components. If any of these details differ, do not assume the kit will fit.

Will this kit fix a hard-starting or poorly idling engine?

A worn needle valve, damaged gasket, deteriorated O-ring or faulty float can contribute to hard starting, rough idle, stalling or fuel leakage. Carburetor cleaning, correct adjustment and diagnosis of the rest of the fuel and ignition systems are also required.

What are common signs that a carburetor needs service?

Common symptoms include difficult starting, unstable idle, hesitation, stalling, fuel leakage, poor acceleration or a noticeable change in fuel mixture. These symptoms can have multiple causes, so inspect the complete engine system before replacing parts.

Is this an OEM part?

No. This is an aftermarket replacement repair kit. The OEM and aftermarket numbers shown above are reference numbers used to identify compatible applications and are not a statement that the kit is manufactured by those brands.

Does the kit fit every 3–8 HP outboard?

No. The 3–8 HP range is only a general application range. Fitment depends on the exact brand, model code, production year, serial range and carburetor design.

How often should a carburetor be rebuilt?

There is no universal replacement interval. Service the carburetor when inspection shows deterioration or when symptoms indicate a fuel-system problem. Fuel age, storage conditions and saltwater exposure can affect service requirements.

What should I do if the parts do not match?

Do not force the components into place or operate the engine with an uncertain fuel-system repair. Compare the original parts and contact support with the complete engine model and photographs of the carburetor and kit components.

Safety & Important Information

  • Work only in a well-ventilated area away from flames, sparks and ignition sources.
  • Use appropriate eye protection and chemical-resistant gloves when handling fuel and carburetor cleaner.
  • Verify the engine model, year, serial range and carburetor configuration before purchase and installation.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement kit, not an OEM component.
  • Professional installation is recommended when the applicable service procedure or carburetor settings are unfamiliar.
