Troubleshooting & FAQ
Will this kit fit my 1993 15HP Johnson engine?
No. The 1993 9.9HP and 15HP models specifically used a different carburetor and primer system design, making this service valve kit incompatible. It fits most other Johnson/Evinrude models with a primer valve; always verify part numbers before ordering.
What is the purpose of the red knob on the valve?
The red knob allows you to switch the valve's function. In its standard position, it acts as a normal fuel primer. When activated, it opens a port that allows you to inject engine tuner or fogging oil directly into the fuel system for maintenance without disassembling the carburetor.
What are signs that my original primer valve is failing?
Common symptoms of a failing primer valve include difficulty starting a cold engine, a fuel smell or visible leak around the valve area, an engine that floods easily, or a primer button that feels stuck and does not return to its original position.
Is this an OEM part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part, not OEM. It is built to meet or exceed OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. All our parts are manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility and are batch-inspected for quality control and consistency.
What are the shipping speed and cost?
We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit time is 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free for most orders, and expedited options will appear at checkout if available for your region.
What is the warranty and return policy?
This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal marine use. If you encounter any issues, please contact our support team with your order details for assistance. Returns are accepted within our standard window for unused items in their original condition. See our official policy page or reach out for instructions.
Safety & Important Info
- Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
