Installation Notes
- Turn off the engine and secure the vessel. Place the sterndrive in a convenient working position.
- Locate the gear lube fitting on the inner transom plate inside the boat.
- Disconnect the lube reservoir hose from the top of the old fitting. Be prepared for minor oil spillage.
- From the outside of the transom, carefully remove the E-clip that secures the fitting.
- Remove the old fitting and any existing O-rings. Clean the mounting area thoroughly.
- Place the new O-rings onto the new fitting assembly.
- Insert the new fitting through the transom from inside the engine bay.
- From the outside, secure the fitting firmly in place with the new E-clip.
- Re-attach the gear lube reservoir hose to the quick-connect port on the new fitting.
- Top off the gear lube reservoir if needed and check the connection for leaks before operating the vessel.
