- Ensure the engine is off and has had time to cool down. Disconnect the battery as a safety precaution.
- If your fuel system has a pressure release valve, relieve the pressure. Place absorbent rags below the fuel line connection points to catch any spills.
- Note the arrow indicating fuel flow direction on the old primer bulb before removing it.
- Loosen the hose clamps on both ends of the old bulb and carefully twist it off the fuel lines.
- Install the new primer bulb, making sure the arrow points in the direction of fuel flow (from the tank to the engine).
- Securely tighten the hose clamps on both ends of the new bulb.
- Squeeze the new bulb until it becomes firm, which indicates the fuel bowl is full.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and inspect for any leaks around the connections.
