Installation Notes

1. Close the water inlet valve (seacock) before starting.
2. Locate the raw water pump on your engine. You may need to remove a belt guard for access.
3. Loosen the screws on the pump cover and remove it. Note the orientation of the old impeller blades.
4. Remove the old impeller. Use pliers or impeller pullers if it's stuck, being careful not to damage the pump housing.
5. Clean the old gasket material from the pump cover and housing surfaces.
6. Lubricate the inside of the pump housing and the new impeller with a water-based lubricant or glycerine. Do not use petroleum grease.
7. Install the new impeller, bending the blades in the same direction as the old one.
8. Place the new gasket on the pump housing.
9. Reinstall the pump cover and tighten the screws evenly. Do not overtighten.
10. Open the water inlet valve. Start the engine and immediately check for leaks and proper water flow.
